Allen, Northern Samar, August 6, 2024 – The AMOEC Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) in Allen, Northern Samar, was honored with a surprise visit from key Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) officials on August 5, 2024. The delegation was led by Assistant Secretary Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, the Head of the CDA Education, Advocacy, and Union (EAU) Cluster, accompanied by Ms. Venus M. Jornales, Regional Director of CDA Region VIII, along with Eileen L. Doroja and Mr. Elihu Remegio, both Cooperative Development Specialists II at CDA Region VIII, and Monawara Kusian, Executive Secretary II.
The visit began with a warm welcome from the AMOEC MPC members and staff, who were delighted by the unexpected presence of the CDA officials. The delegation toured the cooperative’s facilities, engaging in meaningful discussions with members and leaders about the cooperative’s current projects, achievements, and future plans.
One of the key topics of discussion was the potential creation of a Laboratory Cooperative. This initiative is designed to train youth in the principles and practices of cooperativism, providing them with hands-on experience and fostering a deep understanding of cooperative values. The Laboratory Cooperatives aim to cultivate a new generation of cooperative leaders who are knowledgeable, skilled, and committed to the cooperative movement.
ASEC Guinomla highlighted the vital role of cooperatives in community development and economic growth. He praised AMOEC MPC for its exemplary performance and contributions to the local community. He also took the opportunity to congratulate AMOEC MPC for achieving a significant milestone by entering the billionaire category. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the cooperative’s strong leadership, effective management, and the unwavering dedication of its members. Guinomla emphasized the importance of continuous education and development in maintaining and furthering this achievement.
