Expectations are high for a productive and meaningful partnership, empowering future lawyers, and in the same note paving the path to a positive change for the cooperatives and the community as the Cooperative Development Authority Region VIII Extension Office and the Don Vicente Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation, Inc. College of Law joined forces through a Memorandum of Agreement for the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP), launching the CDA Laws Awareness Program (CLAP) on December 13, 2023 at the CDA Region VIII EO.

This promising collaboration aims to bridge the gap in legal education by integrating cooperative laws into the curriculum, fostering better understanding among law students and professionals. Attendees of the event from the Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation, Inc. were DVOREFI-CLAS Director, Atty. Dennis Aran T. Abril, and Deputy Director, Atty. Divine Grace A. Tan. Representing the Cooperative Development Authority were Regional Director Venus M. Jornales and Assistant Regional Director Maripaz M. Del Pilar, alongside CDA Region 8 Legal Officer Atty. Jasper M. Carias, CDA Head Office CLAP Focal Person Atty. Sheena T. Rima, and the dedicated ladies and gents of the CDA Regional Office.
Moving forward, the CDA Region VIII Extension Office remains committed to expanding the CDA Laws Awareness Program by establishing partnerships with additional law schools in the region through their CLEP, furthering its mission to promote awareness of Cooperative Laws.
