The Cooperative  Development Authority  Region VIII conducted an online training for cooperatives in the region in the registration of their products into the  CO-OPBIZ.PH system – the  CDA’s version of  Amazon or Alibaba,  Shopee or Lazada. It is a  CDA Global Project  that envisions bringing  the Philippine  cooperative products to the global market chain.  

The training was a  coordinated  activity with the  CDA R8 CPDAS  and CDA ICT  Section via Zoom  platform last  October 5, 2023  at 9:00 in the  morning. It was  participated by 50  participants from  the 25  cooperatives  which have products to sell and provide market opportunity for cooperatives both in domestic and international through  the online platform. 

The speaker for the webinar  was Ms. Veryan L. Artates, the  head of the ICT in the Region.  She discussed on the features  of the Co-opBiz including the  registration process. Co-opBiz  is the first cooperative  platform that features the  products of the cooperatives  for free. This project is  managed by IDS in  coordination with the ICTD for  technical support and with the  Office of the Chairman. Present during the webinar was  ARD. Maripaz M. Del Pilar, who  gave her welcome message to  the cooperatives in celebration  of the Cooperative Month. In  closing, Regional Director, Venus  Jornales, encouraged the  cooperatives to use the platform  in order for their products and  the cooperative to be globally  competitive and adapt with the  changing needs of the society.
