Region VIII Champions Employee Well-being: GAD Workshop Focuses on Stress Management and Wellness

The Cooperative Development Authority Region VIII successfully held its 1st Quarter Regional Performance Assessment and Planning Conference (RPAPC) on May 14–16, 2025, at Avior Hotel, Abucay, Tacloban City. In line with the conference, a special Human Resource Activity under the Gender and Development (GAD) Program was conducted on May 16, 2025, titled: “Wellness in Action: Managing Stress and Enhancing Workplace Well-being.” This wellness session was actively participated in by 37 CDA employees and aimed to promote a healthier, more inclusive, and gender-sensitive workplace by focusing on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of personnel.
To ensure a meaningful and engaging session, the CDA invited Ms. Kay Katherine Y. Zabala, a Certified Life and Mental Health Coach, as the resource speaker. Through her guidance, participants explored key concepts such as understanding mental health, reframing stress and emotions as tools for growth, and creating actionable strategies for stress recovery and workplace success. The session included an interactive workshop and sharing activity, allowing employees to reflect and connect on a deeper level. This initiative reflects CDA Region VIII’s ongoing commitment to employee wellness, mental health awareness, and the core principles of Gender and Development.
