CDA IX PARTICIPATES IN CFIDP PERFORMANCE REVIEW FOR FIRST SEMESTER 2024

The Cooperative Development Authority Region IX (CDA IX) actively participated in the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Performance Review for the first semester of 2024, held on August 29-30 at BAC Jazz Farm in Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay. This significant event gathered 30 selected personnel from various CFIDP implementing agencies across the region, all focused on evaluating the progress of the program over the past six months.

Representing CDA IX was Ms. Lodith A. Castillo, a dedicated Cooperatives Development Specialist II from the Cooperative Project Development Assistance Section. Ms. Castillo presented the region’s targets and accomplishments, highlighting the cooperative sector’s contributions to the overall success of the CFIDP. Her report underscored the importance of cooperative development in enhancing the livelihoods of coconut farmers, a key priority of the CFIDP.

The performance review served as a platform for collaborative discussions, allowing the participants to share insights and address challenges encountered during the first semester. The exchange of experiences and strategies among the implementing agencies is vital to ensuring the effective implementation of the CFIDP in the coming months.

The collaboration between CDA IX and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) remains strong, with both agencies working closely to better serve the coconut cooperatives and, ultimately, the coconut farmers in the region. This partnership is essential in driving sustainable development within the coconut industry, ensuring that the benefits of the CFIDP reach those who need them most.
