CDA REGION 9 PARTICIPATES IN 38TH NATIONAL COCONUT WEEK WITH COCONUT TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY

In celebration of the 38th National Coconut Week, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 9 joined hands with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) in a coconut tree planting activity at Sta. Cruz, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. The event was spearheaded by PCA Regional Manager Ferdinand D. Acaylar, underscoring the importance of environmental stewardship and the promotion of sustainable practices within the coconut industry.

The CDA Region 9 was ably represented by Ms. Lodith A. Castillo, Cooperative Development Specialist II (CDS II) of the Cooperative Project Development and Assistance Section (CPDAS). Her participation highlighted CDA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that not only benefit the cooperatives but also contribute to the broader goal of environmental preservation.

This collaboration between the PCA and CDA Region 9 exemplifies the vital role that inter-agency partnerships play in advancing the welfare of cooperatives. By working together, agencies can pool resources, share expertise, and implement initiatives that have a lasting positive impact on both the cooperative sector and the environment. The coconut tree planting activity is a testament to how joint efforts can lead to the sustainable development of resources and the empowerment of local communities.

As the 38th National Coconut Week continues to promote the coconut industry, activities like this reinforce the importance of nurturing our natural resources while supporting the livelihoods of those who depend on them. CDA Region 9 remains committed to collaborating with other agencies to drive initiatives that benefit cooperatives and promote a greener, more sustainable future.
