The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Regional Extension Office IX, in partnership with the Provincial Cooperative Office, successfully conducted a two-day mandatory training for 13 cooperatives in Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay on September 17-18, 2024. The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of cooperative officers and members on the fundamentals of cooperatives, as well as governance and management practices.
The event was spearheaded by the Provincial Cooperative Officer, Atty. Socrates P. Villota, and facilitated by CDA IX Cooperatives Development Specialist II, Rosylie S. Balungcas. Ms. Balungcas provided in-depth discussions on key topics such as the structure and functions of cooperatives, their role in community development, and effective management strategies to ensure their sustainability and success.
This initiative is part of CDA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening cooperative governance and promoting the growth of cooperatives in the region. By providing essential training, the CDA aims to empower local cooperatives to better serve their members and contribute to the socioeconomic development of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The participating cooperatives expressed their appreciation for the training, recognizing its importance in equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to improve their operations and uphold cooperative principles.
Through collaborative efforts like this, the CDA continues to support the development of cooperative enterprises across the region, fostering a more empowered and resilient cooperative sector.
