Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – A series of seminars aimed at enhancing the capacity of coconut farmers cooperatives was conducted in Pagadian City. The event, held at the Four Queens Resort, brought together 13 cooperatives in Zamboanga del Sur.
The first seminar focused on Parliamentary Procedure for Cooperatives. Led by Prof. Ricardo G. Garcia from the Regional Science Teaching Center (RSTC) in Zamboanga City, the session provided participants with essential knowledge on conducting effective meetings and decision-making processes. Understanding parliamentary procedures is crucial for cooperatives to ensure fair and transparent governance.
The second seminar, on Business Continuity Management, was facilitated by Sr. CDS Ellen M. Ando from the CDA IX Legal Section. This training equipped cooperative leaders with strategies to prepare for and recover from potential disruptions, such as natural disasters or economic downturns. By having a robust business continuity plan, cooperatives can minimize the impact of unforeseen challenges and maintain their operations.
These seminars are expected to significantly contribute to the growth and sustainability of coconut farmers cooperatives in the region. By strengthening their knowledge and skills, these cooperatives can better manage their affairs, improve their financial performance, and ultimately benefit their members.
