DINAS, Zamboanga del Sur – In adherence to Section 4(b) of Republic Act 11364, the CDA Region IX Extension Office conducted a visit to the municipality of Dinas in the province of Zamboanga del Sur on February 1, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to provide handholding support to nine (9) micro-cooperatives in the area.
A dedicated team of five Cooperatives Development Specialist, namely Rafael M. Poquita, Raul T. Alcoran, Hanesa M. Sultan, Faidah D. Diangca, and Gary C. Dioquino, were assigned to the municipality to offer technical assistance. Their primary objective was to aid these micro cooperatives in complying with the regulatory requirements stipulated by the Cooperative Development Authority.
Throughout the visit, the specialists engaged with the cooperatives in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur, providing them with valuable insights, knowledge, and assistance to enhance the cooperatives’ capacity to navigate regulatory processes, manage their operations effectively, and contribute to the local economy.
The visit to Dinas marks a significant step in the implementation of the handholding program in Region IX, where the Cooperative Development Authority remains steadfast in its mandate “to promote the viability and growth of cooperatives as instruments, of equity, social justice and sustainable economic towards greater responsiveness to the attainment of the country’s development goals.”
As these cooperatives in Dinas receive guidance and assistance, the effect is expected to resonate, creating a positive impact on the local community and contributing to the broader economic landscape of Zamboanga del Sur.Top of Form
