The Cooperative Development Authority Region IX Extension Office – Liloy Unit Office, 3rd District Zamboanga del Norte in coordination with Municipal Cooperative Development Office in the Municipality of Sibuco, Province of Zamboanga del Norte organized a Municipal Cooperative Development Council. This is in connection with the issued MC 2022-03 Guidelines on the Structure, Organization and Operation of Cooperative Development Councils (CDCs).
The organized council was composed of the following;
- Office of the Mayor represented by Hon. Joel M. Ventura, Municipal Mayor
- Office of the Sangguniang Bayan, Committee on Cooperatives – SB Member Aldeshir E. Naing
- Office of the Municipal Cooperative Development Officer – MCDO Nasser Mahamod
- Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Officer – Engr. Ricardo Genturalez
- Office of the Municipal Treasurer’s Officer – Julinda Jikiron and Jariya B. Ibrahim
- Office of the Municipal Agriculture Officer – Dervina D. Samson
- Sibuco Government Employees Consumers Cooperative (SIGOVEMCO) – Ruth M. Ventura, Chairperson, Babelyn R. Ismael, Secretary and Majid Arasad, BOD
- Mantivoh Indigenous People Humanitarian and Livelihood Producers Cooperative (MIPHLPCO) – Jhudan Samson, Chairperson, Abdul Amin C. Buroy, BOD and Mubin Janjawi, BOD
- Babami Rubber Farmers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative – Abdulla O Musa
- Department of Trade and Industry – Ryan Pia
- Cooperative Development Authority – Narciso A. Rio, Jr., CDS II
Before the organization, there was a brief orientation about 2022-03 Guidelines on the Structure, Organization and Operation of Cooperative Development Councils (CDCs) conducted by CDS II Narciso A. Rio, Jr.
After the orientation, it was motioned unanimously by the members of the council to organized the Municipal Cooperative Development Council.
The election of officers of the Sibuco Municipal Cooperative Development Council was conducted and namely;
- Chairperson: Ruth M. Ventura from Sibuco Government Employees Consumers Cooperative (SIGOVEMCO)
- Vice Chairperson: Jhudan Samson from Mantivoh Indigenous People Humanitarian and Livelihood Producers Cooperative (MIPHLPCO)
- Secretary: Nasser Mahamod from Office of the Municipal Cooperative Development Office.
- Treasurer: Julinda Jikiron from Municipal Treasurer’s Office
- Auditor: Ryan Pia from the Department of Trade and Industry.
After the election of officers for the Sibuco Municipal Cooperative Development Council (SMCDC) the Oath of Office was conducted and it was administered by the Municipal Mayor of Sibuco, Hon. Joel M. Ventura.
It was followed by the 1st Council Meeting conducted by Chairperson Ruth M. Ventura and attended by the members of the council. Their meeting was focused of the strengthening the cooperatives in their Municipality, Financial Assistance and schedule of their Quarterly meeting.
The meeting was adjourned and they are happy that for the first time in the Municipality of Sibuco, they organized a Council and first time that the employee of Cooperative Development Authority visited their place.
