The first issue that was brought to the attention of RD Glenn S. Garcia, days after he assumed office as Regional Director of CDA 9 on September 3, 2021, was the issue of an excessive amount of fees for a business permit.

RD Garcia scheduled a Cooperative Tax Forum on October 13, 2021, to address this issue. He painstakingly presented each legal basis, expounding its applicability for cooperatives with examples cited from years of experience as an educator, implementer, and decision-maker.

As part of RD Garcia’s commitment during the Forum, CDA 9, at present is cataloging the cooperatives with pending applications with the Bureau of Internal Revenue so that appropriate assistance will be provided.
