Loving the Environment, Caring for the Community

October 8, 2022 – The Pagadian City Cooperative Development Council (PCCDC) in its second year of proactively supporting the government in protecting the environment, spearheaded another tree planting activity at the Manga Watershed, Barangay Manga, Pagadian City, as part of the celebration of the cooperative month in the city of Pagadian. The group consisted of cooperative leaders, employees, and members, representatives from the city cooperative development office, representatives from the office of the city mayor, and representatives from the cooperative development authority.

Before sweating it out to ensure that the 60 native seedlings find their home in the manga watershed, the group was inspired and greatly motivated by the learnings shared by Dr. Carl Dean Litigio, Board of Trustee of the Society of Native Tree Advocates on the significance of offsetting the carbon footprints created by man through planting and preservation of trees.

The group then proceeded to Balay Paglaum sa Maayong Magbalantay and donated rice and grocery items from their community development fund benefiting 11 women beneficiaries of their adopted community.
