ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR’S DEBUT COOPERATIVE CARAVAN: A MILESTONE IN COOPERATIVE SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT

The CDA IX recently organized the One Stop Shop Caravan and Legal Forum in Zamboanga del Sur to boost compliance and legal status among cooperatives. Held over two days from February 26 to 27, 2024, at the Provincial Covered Court in Pagadian City, the event aimed to provide technical assistance to both non-compliant and compliant cooperatives. Attendees addressed concerns regarding annual reports, legal matters, registration requirements, and Mandatory Training for Micro Cooperatives through informative sessions and consultations, ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks and improving operational efficiency.

During the event, 12 non-compliant cooperatives received guidance on legal and registration issues, along with completing mandatory training seminars. Simultaneously, 16 compliant cooperatives engaged in interactive sessions to enhance compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly in annual report completion and legal matters. The collaborative atmosphere highlighted a commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainability within the cooperative sector.

Stakeholders reaffirmed their dedication to supporting cooperative growth, recognizing their crucial role in driving socio-economic progress. With the success of the inaugural event, anticipation is high for future initiatives aimed at further enhancing the resilience and effectiveness of cooperatives across Zamboanga del Sur. Overall, the One Stop Shop Caravan and Legal Forum signify a significant step forward in advancing the welfare and prosperity of cooperatives, showcasing collective efforts to empower and foster sustainable development.
