One-Stop-Shop/CDA on Wheels conducted in Benguet, micro and small cooperatives receive hand-holding

 

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) pursues its mission to promote the viability and growth of cooperatives. Hence, the conduct of the one-stop-shop/hand-holding caravan in the provinces which aims to bring CDA services closer to cooperatives.  In Benguet, the activity run from March 12 to 13, 2024 at the 4th Floor, Legislative Building, Provincial Capitol, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet in partnership with the PLGU-Benguet.

 

In this two-day activity, the CDA provided hand-holdings to micro and small cooperatives in their compliance to mandatory trainings and submission of reports through the Cooperative Assessment Information System (CAIS). A total of 117 participants, representing 48 cooperatives, were in attendance and received hand-holding or technical assistance and cliniquing.

Trainings on the Fundamentals of Cooperatives, and Policy Formulation were held during the first day while the Cooperative Governance and Management was highlighted on the second day which included the discussions on the Labor Code of the Philippines, Social Security Act and the Philhealth System rendered by representatives of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Security System (SSS) and the PhilHealth, respectively, as relevant laws affecting the operations of the cooperative.

It is hoped that similar activities will be conducted in the future, specially that the deadline of submission of reports, as requirements in the issuance of Certificate of Compliance (COC), is drawing near.

The CDA provides necessary interventions to develop cooperatives to ultimately contribute to sustainable development’s triple bottom line of economic, social and environmental objectives.//CLBulalin
