The Cooperative Development Authority Cordillera Administrative Region Extension Office (CDA CAR EO) through the leadership of OIC Regional Director Felicidad R. Cenon, PhD. joined the Apayao cooperative sector in celebrating the Provincial Cooperative Month held last September 18, 2024 at the EKB Memorial Sports Center, in Santa Marcela, Apayao.
Embodying the theme of the National Cooperative Month Celebration, “Cooperatives: Stronger together today for a brighter Tomorrow.”, Apayao cooperatives showed their strength with over 600 attendees in this annual activity. This symbolizes the support of Apayao to the cooperative movement.
Highlighting this activity, CDA CAR EO awarded financial assistance to qualified small and micro cooperatives in the province amounting to Php. 50,000.00 per cooperative. In the same manner, five (5) qualified agriculture cooperatives who were recipients of Digital 2-IN-1 Corn Mill Combine Rice Mill with 10 KVA Generator Set were also recognized. Also, through the Dr. Felicidad Cenon and Atty. Maria Lourdes Contiag-Agmata, important updates regarding CDA issuances and significant cooperative data were shared to the participants.
Not to be outdone, several partner agencies such as the Department of Agriculture (DA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and the different local government units shared their messages and programs for cooperatives. This underscores the shared goal of these agencies to promote the registration and growth of cooperatives. – MEEM
