October 30, 2024 | The City of Taguig, through its Cooperative Development Office (TCDO), concluded ๐พ๐ค๐ค๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐จ 2024 at the Taguig City University Auditorium, coinciding with the celebration of National Cooperative Month.
Launched on October 19, CoopLympics 2024 aimed to foster teamwork, strengthen bonds, and celebrate the cooperative spirit among members and their families. This two-day event featured a range of fun and community-driven activities, including:
* Volleyball and basketball tournaments
* Search for Coop Ambassador
* Coop Cheerdance Competition
* Coop Family Fun Games
With close to 400 participants from 19 cooperatives across Taguig, CoopLympics concluded simultaneously with the Basketball Championship at the Brgy. Sta. Ana covered court. The following are the grand winners in each category:
* Coop Ambassador – PAFCPIC (Champion)
* Coop Cheerdance – PAFCPIC (Champion)
* Volleyball – ACDI (Champion)
* Basketball – DOE (Champion)
In her message, Mayor Lani Cayetano commended the Taguigโs cooperative movementโs commitment to family unity and camaraderie:
โItโs always nice to see na ang effort po ng coop movement ay tumatawid pati sa strengthening ng family and building camaraderie. Ang diwa ng kooperatiba ay masasalamin sa mga activities na ginagawa po natin. In the City of Taguig, we are not only active during Coop Month – hindi lang sa buwan ng Oktubre – active tayo buong taon.โ
PAFCPIC, the champion of both the Cheerdance and Coop Ambassador categories, expressed their gratitude to the City and Mayor Lani for the event:
“We are grateful to the City of Taguig and Mayor Lani Cayetano for organizing this event. It brings cooperatives together, fosters creativity, and builds stronger relationships. We had so much fun today! Thank you, TAGUIG-CDO, Taguig City Coop Development Council (TCCDC) coop unions: COUNTPA and UDPSC for the strong support, collaboration and partnership in all these activities!”
City Councilors Hon. Carlito Ogalinola, Hon. Alex Penolio, Hon. Jaime Garcia, and Hon. Marisse Balina-Eron were also present.
