In celebration of Cooperative Month, the Valenzuela City Cooperative Development Council (VCCDC), the Valenzuela City Cooperative Development Office (VCCDO) together with the Valenzuela City Local Government Unit (LGU) conducted its 26th ValKoop Congress and 25th Dangal ng Valenzuela Awards on October 28, 2022, at the 2nd Floor, ALERT Multi-Purpose Hall, Malinta, Valenzuela City.
It was attended by Thirty-Two (32) Valenzuela Cooperatives with One Hundred Seventy-Three (173) participants/members.
Audio Visual Presentation of Invocation, National Anthem, and Cooperative Pledge was played at 9:00 A.M.
The Emcee called on Valenzuela City Cooperative Development Council Vice-Chairperson, Ms. Rosalie C. Valencia to give the Welcome Remarks.
Congressman Rexlon “Rex” T. Gatchalian gave a very brief yet inspiring message and congratulations.
CDS II of Valenzuela City, Ms. Marilou M. Valencia acknowledged the presence of the Officers and attendees such as: Officers of Valenzuela City LGU, Valenzuela Cooperative Development Council, different Cooperatives registered in Valenzuela City, then introduced the Resource Person, Deputy Administrator for CSFS, Atty. Ma. Lourdes P. Pacao.
The Resource Person, Deputy Administrator for CSFS, Atty. Ma. Lourdes P. Pacao discussed the significance, urgency and mechanics of Credit Surety Fund and successfully convinced the Valenzuela Cooperatives, Valenzuela LGU Officials to establish the Valenzuela City CSF Cooperative.
On the side, several Cooperative sponsored raffles were conducted as ice breakers.
Ms. Luzvilla Agustino, General Manager of Pag-asa Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) presented their Cooperative’s Best Practices.
Ms. Emerlinda Guillemer, Acting Senior CDS of Supervision and Examination Section, represented the CDA-NCREO Regional Director, Mr. Pedro T. Defensor, Jr. and delivered the message.
2nd Part of the program started at 1:30 P.M. Mr. Francis Dacillo, CEO of Holy Family Savings and Credit Cooperative presented their Coop’s Best Practices.
Dr. Josephine P. Osea, Officer-In-Charge of Valenzuela Cooperative Development Office presented the Cooperative Sector Reports.
Awarding of Donations from different Cooperatives to Project Angel Tree (Child Labor Awareness) were handed by Officers of Valenzuela CDC led by Valenzuela CDC Officers, Valenzuela CDO and Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “Wes” T. Gatchalian to very happy and grateful Project Beneficiaries.The 25th Dangal ng Valenzuela Awarding Ceremony was handled by Dr. Josephine P. Osea, Officer-In-Charge of Valenzuela Cooperative Development Office, who announced the following Special Awards:

A most unexpected award surprised the unaware, non-Valenzuelan CDS II Marilou M. Valencia who was recognized with the “Dangal ng Valenzuela” for her significant contribution and tireless effort in providing technical support to the Valenzuela Cooperatives and Community she is committed to serve. Said unexpected “Dangal ng Valenzuela” she proudly accepted and almost made her cry.
Ms. Valentina Francisco announced the winner of the Most Outstanding Cooperative in the following category:
- Small Category – Superv Multi-Purpose Cooperative
- Medium Category – Holy Family Savings and Credit Cooperative
- Large Category – Sto. Rosario Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SRMPC), Valenzuela Development Cooperative (VALDECO), Holy Cross Savings and Credit Cooperative (HCSCCo) respectively.
The following Guests, Councilor Chiqui Carreon, Coun. Nina Lopez and Coun. Mickey Pineda greeted and congratulated the Valenzuela City Cooperatives on their success. While Committee on Cooperatives Chairperson, Coun. Sel Sabino-Sy who is on official travel, requested Coun. Cris Feliciano to read her message and greetings.Featured in today’s celebration is the search for Best Filipiniana Attire. Tasked to find the best were Ms. Ana Blanco, representative of Committee on Cooperatives and Valenzuela City CDS II Marilou M. Valencia. The honor went to St. Joseph the Worker Parish of Punturin Credit and Savings Cooperative, Ms. Rocille-Thel Claves Dela Pierre.
The closing remarks was given by Valenzuela City Mayor, Weslie “Wes” T. Gatchalian where he sincerely congratulated the winners, proudly informed the audience that Valenzuela City placed second in the overall tax collection, that whatever/whenever the Cooperatives need to, they are most welcome to visit him in his Office, expressed his support, and that he is very pleased with the general performance of all Valenzuela City Cooperatives.
The Congress ended at 4:00 P.M. with the dynamic duo, Ms. Valentina Francisco and Mr. Francis Dacillo, thanking and congratulating all the Valenzuela City Cooperatives for their valuable and enthusiastic support of the Cooperative Month Celebration.
