MARIKINA CITY HOLDS 2025 COMPLIANCE FORUM AND HANDHOLDING CARAVAN 

The Cooperative Development Authority- NCR Extension Office has launched the 2025 Compliance Forum in the cities of the Region. Organized in collaboration with the Marikina City Cooperative Development Office, the Cooperative Union of Marikina City, and the assigned CDA NCR – Cooperatives Development Specialists in the area, the forum for the cooperatives in the City of Marikina was held last March 1, 2025 at the Upper Hall Barangka Credit Cooperative, Barangka, Marikina City. Mr. Gerard Paul Salinas, Acting Senior CDS of the Supervision and Examination Section of the CDA NCR Extension Office, presented and discussed details on submitting required reports and data for obtaining a Certificate of Compliance. The discussion provided an overview of the Cooperative Assessment Information System (CAIS), which cooperatives may utilize to submit their reports.

The said activity was interactive, allowing cooperative representatives to express their concerns and provided clarifications regarding the mandatory reports and compliance requirements. The Authority and its partners in the City committed support for cooperative growth and development.

Accordingly, the Handholding Caravan which commenced on March 7, 2025, at the Kapitan Moy House, 323 J. P. Rizal St, Marikina, facilitated guidance and support for the City’s cooperatives. The program started as the Marikina CDO Officer-in-Charge, Ms. Hazel Anne C. Mascariña delivered a message acknowledging various partners who contributed to the event, including ACDI, CDA, the Marikina Cooperative Council, and the invited Cooperative External Auditor Mr. Jeffrey James S. Jacinto, who provided a pro bono audit of the cooperatives’ financial statements.

Mr. Lino P. Guzman, the Chairperson of the Marikina  City Cooperative Development Council, conveyed his message of gratitude to the Agency in extending efforts for conducting the activity for Marikina City cooperatives.

Assistant Regional Director Anastacia A. Hora emphasized the importance of compliance among cooperatives, and also highlighted the celebration of Women’s Month and recognized Ms. Yolanda del Castillo for her significant contributions to the cooperative business environment in the City of Marikina.

The activity aimed to help the cooperatives with their compliance by providing assistance with bookkeeping and auditing services which were available free of charge by the micro and small cooperatives. As confirmation of the event’s results and the cooperatives’ dedication, as well as the CDA partners’ commitment, three Certificates of Compliance were successfully issued during the caravan.
