“Be a glass of water and quench the thirst of others.”  This high call was made by Abhijit Naskar, one of the world’s famous Neuroscientists and an untiring advocate of global harmony and peace. In these uncertain times, this noble act of “quenching the thirst of others” is being exemplified by people and organizations such as cooperatives who serve as vessels of hope and encouragement to the most needy. In Malabon City, the BEE HOME LABOR SERVICE COOPERATIVE, was among those who reached out to care and show compassion to those who belong to the vulnerable sector of our society, the tricycle and pedicab drivers.  The said beneficiaries came from different barangays namely Barangay Catmon, Barangay Tinajeros and Barangay Acacia.  The 500 tricycle and pedicab driver beneficiaries received relief goods prepared by the cooperative.  The coop has chosen these drivers to be  the recipients of this project believing that they are among those who have been greatly affected financially due to the loss of their jobs during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

May we all be a “glass of water” who refreshes and strengthens others as we continue to battle against an unseen enemy. Surely, we will win this fight against COVID-19. – FMC
