Cooperative Month Kick-off Ceremony of Bulacan

October 5, 2024 | The Taguig Cooperative Development Office (TCDO) proudly extends its support to the Provincial Government of Bulacan, with the TCDO Head invited as the keynote speaker for their Cooperative Month kick-off ceremony at the Victory Coliseum with a jam-packed of close to 3,000 coop leader- delegates coming from the 20 municipalities and 4 cities of the province.

In her address, she lauded the strong coop movement of the province which commands over 300,000 membership with over P21 Billion total assets at the close of 2023 fiscal year. With their theme “Empowering Cooperatives, Transforming Communities” she underscored the critical role of developing and building the capacity and capability of the cooperative leaders stressing the point that “Everything rises and falls on leadership”. She then emphasized how the zealous efforts of cooperatives in doing massive financial literacy and financial inclusion program among their members strengthen and transform communities. Accordingly, these basic socio- economic programs and services provided by the cooperatives serves as pillars in the transformation as they empower members to make informed financial decisions, fostering sustainability and economic growth for cooperatives and the community. She also highlighted the importance of empowering communities through cooperative transformation, stressing how cooperatives serve as vehicles for social and economic progress, driving inclusive development and upliftment.

Beyond its commitment to the cooperatives within Taguig City, the TCDO actively champions the principle of ‘Cooperation among Cooperatives’ by sharing its expertise and extending its collaborative efforts to other cities and provinces. This engagement with Bulacan underscores TCDO’s dedication to building a network of empowered and inclusive cooperatives, contributing to the cooperative movement on a broader scale. All these remarkable contributions define why coop movement especially the men and women behind every coops are worthy of a month-long celebration and recognition.
