The Cooperative Development Authority-National Capital Region Extension Office (CDA-NCREO) introduced last year the Handholding Caravan Program aimed at assisting micro and small cooperatives to be compliant with the CDA Reportorial requirements. The program served as a one-stop-shop for participating cooperatives to various CDA services like Training Requirements, Bookkeeping and Auditing leading to the issuance of a Certificate of Compliance (COC).
Now on its 2nd year of implementation, the Enhanced Handholding Caravan Program was conducted by CDA-NCREO in coordination and partnership with One Coop Federation. This time it catered to all types and categories of cooperatives registered in the City of Manila. The event was held last April 1, 2025 at the Philippine Christian University, Manila. It was participated by 42 cooperative officers from 18 cooperatives in the City of Manila.
Due to the collaboration and partnership of the CDA–NCR and ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative, where the latter provided trained bookkeepers, accountants and an accredited Cooperative External Auditor (CEA), 10 cooperatives successfully completed all necessary reports and received their Certificates of Compliance (COC). This accomplishment served as a testament to the effectiveness of collaborative initiatives in enhancing the compliance and overall sustainability of cooperatives.
