Every Filipino loves to sing, we sing while cooking, while doing our laundry, while bonding with our friends and even when taking a bath. Since Filipinos were known to be good singers, the Caloocan City Development & Coordinating Division headed by Mr. Allan Lambojo held a singing contest entitled “Himig ng Batang Kankaloo 2023! A Caloocan City Cooperatives Singing Contest!”. This was in partnership with Ms. Lucy Furo, Chairperson of the Caloocan City Cooperative Development Council (CCCDC). It was held last October 13, 2023 at Caloocan City Hall Commercial Complex, 8th Ave., Grace Park East, Caloocan City.
The said contest was participated by eight aspiring singers who wished to share their talent. To qualify, they should be members of their cooperative for at least six months, a solo performer and endorsed by the BOD or General Manager of their respective cooperatives. Each contestant needs to perform a whole song number to be judged by the Board of Judges composed of Ms. Lucy Furo from CCCDC, Ms. Kathleen Pacubas, OIC for Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office and Ms. Alma Bucalen, OIC for City Economic and Investment Promotion Office.
The participants, judges as well as the audience enjoyed the contest and ended the activity with smiles on their faces.
