Makati City Koop Kapatid MOA Signing

The Koop Kapatid Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was forged between three Makati City Partner Cooperatives and four Makati City Beneficiary Cooperatives on June 10, 2025 at 9 A.M., LGF Edsa Grand Residences, 75 Corregidor St. corner EDSA, Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City.

The Koop Kapatid Program, initiated by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), aims to foster cooperation and collaboration among cooperatives, particularly between established & partner cooperatives and emerging & beneficiary cooperatives. It operates under the 6th Cooperative Principle & Cooperation among Cooperatives, encouraging larger, stronger cooperatives to mentor and assist smaller, newer ones.


Earlier on March 13, 2025 and May 22, 2025, Makati City assigned Developmental Cooperatives Development Specialist (DCDS) Marilou M. Valencia conducted an Orientation on MC 2023-02 – Revised Guidelines on the Implementation of the Koop Kapatid Program. This is in line with the confirmation of the partnership between the Partner Cooperatives and Beneficiary Cooperatives and to further evaluate any assistance and support needed by the latter.

The Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was witnessed by CDA-NCR Regional Director, Pedro T. Defensor, Jr., Ms. May Q. Pacleb, Acting Senior of Cooperative Project Development and Assistance Section (CPDAS), Ms. Ma. Flordeliza M. Chu, Senior CDS of Registration Section, Makati assigned CDS II, Marilou M. Valencia and Ludi Vi C. Manaog, some CDA-NCR Staff, and other Cooperative Officers.

The Partner Cooperatives with their Beneficiary Cooperatives are listed as follows:
1. KOOPNAKAMI-MMDA (Kooperatiba sa Pagpapaunlad ng mga Nagkakaisang
Kawani ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) – Partner Cooperative
a. Colgate Palmolive Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative – Beneficiary Cooperative
b. Metroclub Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative – Beneficiary Cooperative

 

2. UCPB Group Multi-Purpose Cooperative – Partner Cooperative 
a. Barangay San Lorenzo Makati Employees Consumers Cooperative
(BSLMECC) – Beneficiary Cooperative

3. Caltex (Makati) Credit Cooperative – Partner Cooperative
b. Makati City Retired Employees Credit Cooperative (MACRECCO) – Beneficiary Cooperative

After the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), both Partner and Beneficiary Cooperatives delivered their responses. The Partner Cooperatives promised to do their best to help their respective Beneficiary Cooperatives while the latter expressed their deepest and sincerest gratitude in return.

The event ended with the greatest hope for a more positive collaboration and successful partnership in this Koop Kapatid Program.
