In a significant stride towards strengthening local cooperatives and promoting effective governance, the Paranaque City Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) successfully conducted a two-day Seminar on Cooperative Management and Governance. The event, held on July 11 and 12, 2023, was actively participated by 12 cooperatives, with 40 dedicated attendees eager to enhance their cooperative management expertise.
Under the leadership of Ms. Josephine N. Salomon, head of PCDO, the seminar proved to be a pivotal platform for cooperative members and officers to gain valuable insights into the principles of cooperative management and governance. The training, deemed mandatory by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), was designed to equip participants with practical skills and strategies essential for the sustainable growth and prosperity of their respective cooperatives.
Speakers from the pool of trainors of PCDO, Mr. William V. Cortez, and Ms. Eleonora G. Garcia shared their in-depth knowledge on various aspects, including cooperative principles, legal and regulatory compliance, financial management, membership engagement, and democratic governance.
