Training on Recognition of Mediators and Conciliators in Paranaque City

On July 3-5, 2024, at Ruby Hall, Max’s Restaurant, Sucat Paranaque City a Training Workshop on the Recognition of Mediators and Conciliators took place.  This was organized in coordination with the Cooperative Development Authority-National Capital Region Extension Office (CDA-NCREO), Paranaque Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), and Paranaque Cooperative Development Council (PCDC), supported by key secondary cooperatives in Paranaque City: the Paranaque Union of Cooperatives (PqCUC), Paranaque Federation of Cooperatives (PqFC), and the Unified Marketing Services Cooperative of Paranaque (UMSCPFW).

The 3-day training workshop aimed to empower participants with essential skills for fostering effective mediation and conciliation processes within cooperative settings and was designed to ensure participants gained invaluable insights and practical knowledge.  Through a series of interactive sessions, and role-playing exercises, attendees were equipped with the tools necessary to handle disputes and conflicts with professionalism and fairness.   Experienced speakers from CDA-NCR and the CDA Head Office – Legal Affairs Service (CDA HO-LAS) led the sessions, ensuring a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on application.

The conduct and funding for this initiative were a testament to national and local government collaborative efforts, jointly supported by the three secondary cooperatives in Paranaque City. Their financial support underscored a shared commitment to enhancing the cooperative sector’s conflict resolution capacity, fostering stronger, more resilient cooperative communities.
