Valenzuela City Celebrating Cooperative Month 2024:
A Month of Growth and Community
To mark the start of the Cooperative Month for 2024, the Valenzuela City Development Office led by Officer-in-Charge Ms. Josephine P. Osea, and the Valenzuela City Cooperative Development Council (VCCDC), headed by Ms. Rosalie C. Valencia, organized a series of engaging activities. The theme for this year’s celebration, “Cooperatives: Stronger Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow,” resonated throughout the month-long event.
Highlights of the Month-Long Celebration:
October 1, 2024 | 18th Lakad Para sa Kooperatiba: This was held at Aero Circle Peoples Park, Malinta, Valenzuela City joined by 48 cooperatives with 450 participants. A vibrant parade marked the start of the festivities that showcased the diversity and vibrancy of the participating cooperatives. It highlighted the cooperatives’ commitment to community development and social progress.
Following the parade, participants enjoyed a lively Zumba session which promoted health and wellness within the cooperative community.
These were events that served as a testament to the enduring power of cooperatives in fostering community development and improving the lives of their members.
October 7, 2024 | Customer Care Seminar: A comprehensive training program focused on elevating service excellence was held at AVR Action Center Dalandanan, Valenzuela City participated by 17 cooperatives with 45 participants. The seminar aimed to enhance customer service skills and encourage stronger relationship with members.
October 10, 2024 | Health Awareness Seminar: Held at WES Event Space Dalandanan, Valenzuela City. The event was attended by 63 senior citizens from 18 different cooperatives. It aimed to promote healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare practices.
The seminar also featured informative discussions on various health topics which included nutrition, exercise and stress management. Experts shared valuable insights and practical tips to help participants improve their overall well-being.
The cooperative’s commitment to the health and wellness of its members was evident in the organization of this event. By providing access to essential health information and resources, the cooperative empowered its members to make informed decisions about their health.
Following the seminar, participants enjoyed a fun-filled bingo game, fostering camaraderie and social interaction among the attendees.
October 12, 2024 | VCMC Camaraderie: The VCMC hosted a fun-filled team-building activity at La Florentina Resort, Bonga Menor, Bustos, Bulacan. The event brought together 145 participants from 28 cooperatives for a day of camaraderie and collaboration.
Through a series of engaging games and challenges, participants strengthened their bonds, promoted a strong sense of solidarity and shared valuable experiences. The event highlighted the power of cooperation and teamwork within the cooperative community.
This camaraderie-building event not only nurtured a positive work environment but also inspired participants to adopt a more collaborative and supportive approach in their respective cooperatives. The skills and values gained from the team-building activities can be applied to improve workplace dynamics and overall productivity.
October 17, 2024 |Gender and Development Seminar: This seminar addressed gender issues and promoted gender equality within the cooperative, emphasizing the importance of creating an inclusive and equitable organization. Held at VALACE 5th Floor Training Room Hall B, Malinta, Valenzuela City and participated by 22 cooperatives with 67 participants.
October 26, 2024 | 28th ValKoop Congress: Held at Alert Center Multi-purpose Hall, Malinta, Valenzuela City, this Congress is a significant gathering of cooperative leaders and members. They discussed industry trends, shared best practices and charted the future of the cooperative movement. There were 48 cooperatives with 182 participants who attended said event.
