The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) recently conducted the Joomla Training Program aimed at capacitating its Management Information System (MIS) personnel in the management of their respective extension office’s website contents. Through the new technology, the Authority hopes to provide valuable and relevant information to its clientele to make it transactional and service-oriented.
Held on September 25-27, 2012 at the New Horizon Hotel in Mandaluyong City, the three day training was facilitated by concurrent MIS unit head Deputy Executive Director Giovanni T. Platero and Central Office staff Bong D. Garcia, Rose B. Morales and Lito V. Buan. IT consultant Carlo V. Cachola provided valuable inputs on his talk on the strategic value of information which focused on information processing for better decision and policy making of the management and the Board of Administrators.
The activity likewise provided hands-on training on news and feature writing through Joomla technology wherein extension office participants were able to publish in their websites their activities, plans and programs and future events at the end of the training.
