The 7th episode of Koops eForum held on September 8, 2020 was graced with the presence of Usec. Orlando R. Ravanera, ASec. Virgilio R. Lazaga and Executive Director Ray R. Elevazo, from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).
The CDA Koops eForum was fortunate to have resource persons from the National Privacy Commission (NPC), represented by Mr. JONATHAN RUDOLPH Y. RAGSAG, OIC Division Chief, Data Security and Technology Standard Division, who discussed the topic Data Privacy: How Cooperatives Protect Their Data Online, and PMAJ HECTOR E. TANIO, JR, Chief, IPR Section, CIDG-Anti Fraud and Commercial Crimes Unit, Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG), who discussed Countering Extortion Activities Directed Against Cooperatives.
The Koops eForum also have cooperative officers and cooperative development office representative as reactors, namely: Mr. FERDINAND P. CALMA, Chief, Angeles City Cooperative Development Office, Region 3; Mr. NASSER M. ALI, Chairperson, Carmen Agricultural Resources Development (CARD) MPC, Region 12; Ms. KENNETH HAZE G. SANCHEZ, Chairperson, DSWD 10 Consumers Cooperative, Region 10; and, Ms. MAXIMA MACARAIG, Chairperson, Kababaihan, Kaibigan ng Bigaa MPC (KABIG MPC), Region 4-A.
Each reactor shared the experience of their cooperatives, the members, as well as personal experiences of being extorted by CPP-NPA, and other external sources. The resource persons provided comprehensive presentations and handled the questions aptly, while the reactors shared their questions and recommendations that may help in the improvement of such programs.
