CDA INKS LAND DONATION AGREEMENT WITH LGU LINGAYEN AND DPWH

While adhering to stringent COVID-19 regulations, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) recently conducted a ceremonial signing of the usufruct agreement which will kick off the construction of the CDA Office building in Lingayen last December 9, 2021, at the Lenox Hotel, Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

“We appreciate the goodwill of the LGU Lingayen in granting us the right of ownership and beneficial use of a parcel of land owned by the municipal government as the location for the CDA Region 1 office,” says Josefina B. Bitonio, outgoing Regional Director of the Cooperative Development Authority in Region 1. The donated land will strengthen the presence of the CDA in the region, even more, she added.

Director Josefina Bitonio made the statement following the signing of Deed of Usufruct with CDA Officials led by Usec. Joseph B. Encabo, Asec. Myrla B. Paradillo, Asec. Virgilio R. Lazaga, Asec. Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, Asec. Pendatun B. Disimban, Asec. Abad L. Santos, Asec. Vidal Villanueva III, incoming Regional Director Alberto a. Sabarias, DPWH officers and representatives, through its City Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil. Through the usufruct, the CDA is offered the use of a one thousand five hundred (1500) square meter portion of a real property where a future CDA site will be constructed. The usufruct is valid for 25 years and can be renewed for another 25 years at the usufructuary’s discretion.

“We are thankful to Mayor Bataoil for donating a section of their land in support of the CDA’s mission to serve the region with patriotism and compassion that will impact cooperatives. This will also make our programs and services more accessible, allowing the organization respond to our clients’ needs,” said CDA Chairman Usec. Joseph B. Encabo in a statement after signing the deed on December 9.

Construction on the new CDA building will begin soon and is expected to be finished by 2022, with all required precautions in place to ensure that construction may proceed uninterrupted during this period.

Presently, the regional office of CDA is located in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. (Jasper V. Ferrer)
