In celebration of this year’s Cooperative Month with the theme, “Cooperatives: Stronger Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow,” the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region I proudly joined the province of La Union for the Kick-Off Celebration on October 7, 2024, at the picturesque Bakawan Eco Park in Bauang, La Union. This event marks the start of Cooperative Month, a significant time to reflect on the contributions and achievements of cooperatives across the region.
The event was initiated by none other than Hon. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David, Governor of the Province of La Union, a passionate advocate for community development, with the attendance of key officials from La Union, their representatives, and numerous cooperative leaders and members from across Region I.
One of the key highlights of the program was the inspiring speeches delivered by Atty. Frederick Joe N. Robles, the Regional Director of CDA Region I, Hon. Mark Roy Q. Macanlalay, Regional Manager of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) for Regions I, II, and CAR, Hon. Cynthia Angelica M. Bacurnay, SPM Chairman, Com. on Cooperatives, Mr. Leodivico Verzola, Municipal Agriculture Office Department Head, Dr. Eleazar Belgica, EA IV and Ms. Sharon M. Viloria, OIC Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
In addition to the main program, the event was enriched by a simultaneous medical mission and outreach program, supported by the Provincial Health Office of La Union and the Office of the Provincial Governor.
