DAVAO CITY- In celebration of the Cooperative Month and as part of its mandate to promote the viability of cooperatives, the CDA Region 11 Extension Office through the initiative of its Legal Unit headed by Atty. Earl D.F. Larroder and in partnership with Cooperative Research Information Training Section headed by Senior CDS II Ms. Theresa Dave, conducted a special webinar on selected legal topics for cooperatives on October 5, 2023 from 9:00am-2:00pm.
The said special webinar was attended by around 80 participants from the various cooperatives in the Davao Region (Region 11). The topics covered were the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004, “How to Enter into Legal Contracts”, Doctrine of Exhaustion of Administrative Remedies, Agrarian Reform Law, CDA Omnibus Rules of Procedures on Dialogue Proceedings, Cause of Action Defines, Rights and Obligations of Cooperative Officers and Members, among others.
The speakers for the said special webinar were Law Student Practitioners (LSPs) from the Rizal Memorial College- School of Law, namely Ms. Mialyn C. Manacio and Ms. Ruqayyah P. Baclid. This is in line with the CDA Law Awareness Program (CLAP) wherein law students shall be immersed in the proceedings and activities of the CDA Legal Unit.
