Twenty-three (23) cooperatives from Region XI have recently received financial assistance from Cooperative Development Authority’s (CDA) Special Assistance for Recovery and Alleviation Program, funded by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Sa Kooperatiba project on June 13, 2024 at PCA Training Center in Bago Oshiro, Tugbok, Davao City.
These cooperatives faced significant setbacks due to calamities and disasters that disrupted both their operations and the livelihoods of their members. The assistance aims not only to alleviate their immediate financial challenges but also to help them rebuild and strengthen their resilience for the future. To further support this effort, CDA RXI conducted an orientation on Business Continuity Management (BCM) for the cooperatives in the morning of the same day.
Later in the afternoon, Senator Bong Go, along with CDA Undersecretary Joseph Encabo and CDA RXI Regional Director Glenn S. Garcia, MGM, personally presented checks amounting to Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php50,000.00) to each beneficiary cooperative. Adding joy to the event, veteran actor Philip Salvador was also in attendance.
The event, attended by around three hundred individuals, including officers and members of beneficiary cooperatives, Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) RXI headed by Regional Manager Juvy T. Alayon, and supportive dynamic partners from Cooperative Development Offices from various provinces in Region XI, symbolized a hopeful and united step forward in the cooperatives’ journey towards recovery and alleviation.
