2nd Regional Cooperative Development Council Meeting Commences

Held at Happy Bee Farm, Hawilian, Esperanza, the 2nd Regional Cooperative Development Council Meeting Commenced successfully last May 25-26, 2023.
Headed by the RCDC Chair, Mr. Alvin B. Dela Cruz, the meeting was attended by the members of the council – PCDOs of Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, CCDOs of Bislig City, Cabadbaran City, Butuan City, Bayugan City, Tandag City, RCOs. Hosted by the MCDO Esperanza, the 2-day meeting was very successful and enjoyable one.
There were a lot of important matters tackled enclosed in the agenda and they were: 1. Presentation of Mindanao Consolidated Cooperative Bank, 2. Update on the CDOs TOT, 3. Issues on Cooperative CDA Registration (SEC), 4. Recognition of CDC by CD, 5. 11 NTC, 6. Updates on 4th RCC, 7. LCDOP Concerns, 8. Revisit RCDC Membership (RCO), 9. CDO Updates, 10. CDA Hour, 11. Other Matters. Among the major discussions were focused on the CDOs orientation as cooperative training provider. They need not to be accredited by the CDA but they need to be trained by the CDA pool of trainers. As of the moment of this writing, they are still waiting for the guidelines to be issued. Another matter is the recognition of Cooperative Development Councils in all levels. MC 2022-03 was the legal bases for the recognition and on part III section 1 of the MC, it made mention that CDCs of all except NCDC must be recognized by the Authority given that they will submit the required documents like 1. Resolution of the CDC signifying its interest to be recognized, and commitment to adhere to the guidelines issued governing CDC and 2. Cooperative Development Council Information Sheet.

Regional Director Monatao Honeya R. Alawi expressed her gratitude to the host of the council meeting and to everybody attending. She added that it only showed the willingness of the council to support cooperative programs since they are one of the partners of the authority in ground level.

Although there were some topics that were being discussed nevertheless the council had tackled the most important ones and agreed to temporarily adjourn the meeting and forward the undiscussed ones to the next meeting which is to be hosted by the province of Agusan del Sur.
RCDC Caraga has been practicing the mobile meeting for several years already and they give chance to every province/city to host such and showcase their respective places.
