On August 15, 2024, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), led by Dr. Monatao Honeya R. Alawi, PhD, sponsored the 2024 Convention of Coconut Farmers Cooperatives during the week-long celebration of 2024 Caraga Coconut Festival held at Robinsons Place Butuan. The event was organized as part of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP).
CDA provided hand-holding services and technical assistance to the coconut farmers in attendance. The event featured targeted learning sessions designed to address the specific needs of the participating coconut farmers.
Members of the Caraga Coconut Farmers Cooperative participated in the training, gaining critical insights to enhance their cooperative’s financial management and legal compliance.
Ms. Noelle Angela W. Pamaran of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas led the first learning session, stressing the importance of savings, budgeting and resource management as foundational elements for ensuring long-term sustainability of cooperatives.
Subsequently, Atty. Kenny Junce P. Altubar conducted an in-depth session on the Omnibus Rules of the CDA, highlighting essential legal frameworks and compliance obligations that cooperatives must adhere to.
This event provided participants with valuable skills and knowledge while showing CDA Caraga’s commitment to supporting the ongoing education and growth of its coconut farmers.
