The Albay Provincial Cooperative Building was beautifully embellished with fresh flowers, balloons and ribbons for its inauguration. The ribbon cutting, blessing and inauguration of newly-constructed, two (2)-storey building was held last Monday, October 18, 2021 in Brgy. Cabangan, Camalig, Albay.
This event was graced by the presence of Provincial Government of Albay headed by Gov. Al Francis C. Bichara together with guest of honor Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” F. Zubiri, Vice-Gov. Edcel “Grex” B. Lagman, members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Mayor Carlos Irwin G. Baldo Jr. of LGU-Camalig, Mr. Salvador V. Valeroso, Regional Director of CDA Regional Office V, Ms. Rafaelita M. Nicoleta, Provincial Cooperative Enterprise Development Officer witnessed by CDA- Provincial Office personnel and officers of different cooperatives in Albay. At around 11:00 AM, ceremonial cutting of ribbon was followed by the unveiling of Albay Provincial Cooperative Building marker. The blessing of the new building was conducted by Rev. Fr. Alray Compuesto of St. John the Baptist Parish in Camalig, Albay.
During the program, Hon. Al Francis C. Bichara shared a short inspirational message acknowledging the guests and the story behind the success of making this building turn into reality. Our Regional Director, Mr. Salvador V. Valeroso extended his heartfelt gratitude for this momentous event that gives a new avenue for cooperative trainings and seminars as well as the unending support of PGA and Sen. Zubiri for cooperative sector.
In his message, Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, Chairman of Senate Committee on Cooperatives, recognized the effort of the Provincial Government of Albay, cooperatives and the commitment of CDA as lead agency on coops’ development and sustainability. He added that coop sector has a huge role in helping the community for its contributions made during this pandemic and congratulated the province of Albay for having such building in support to all cooperatives in the province for a stronger partnership with the government and promoting continuous development for cooperatives.
The program also includes signing of deed of donation of equipment packages by cooperative beneficiaries. Beneficiary cooperatives were Camote Creations Farmers and Entrepreneurs Producers Cooperative and Tunay Tapat Lahing Pilipino Cooperative (TTLPC).
The building is fully air-conditioned and well ventilated. The ground floor has a lobby and spacious office was occupied by PCEDO and CDA-Albay Provincial personnel. The second floor has a huge training hall that can accommodate around 200 guests however, to observe social distancing, this can accommodate 80 guests for trainings and upcoming activities of cooperatives. This event marks another milestone for Albay as we celebrate the Cooperative Month 2021.
