On October 1, 2023, the Provincial Cooperative Development Council of Catanduanes in collaboration with Cooperative Development Authority Regional Office 5 – Catanduanes Field Office observed the Republic Act No. 11502 “DECLARING MONTH OF OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS THE NATIONAL COOPERATIVE MONTH”.

The Cooperative Month Celebration in the Happy Island of Catanduanes was actively participated by different cooperatives. The opening salvo was started with the Holy Mass at Risen Christ Chapel, CSU Compound, Virac, Catanduanes. It was followed by a motorcade from Risen Christ Chapel going to downtown Virac to Provincial Capitol Compound which ended at the Virac boulevard where River and Boulevard Clean-Up Drive were done by cooperative leaders, members and partners from MCDC Virac, MENRO Virac and Alpha Kappa Rho Fraternity and Sorority.The event was graced by Hon. Jan Ferdinand A. Alberto, PCDC Chairperson, Mr. Crispin S. Lopez, CUC Chairperson, Mr. Joseph Taniajura, PCDO designate, Ms. Grace Tabinas, MCDO designate and Mr. Ophar June V. Dy, CDA Provincial CDS. The kick-off activities promoted camaraderie, leadership and unity, likewise it advanced the values and principles of cooperatives and encouraged cooperative movement by showing the force of cooperatives in the province.
