Cooperatives in Action

Coops’ Against COVID-19 Pandemic
Cooperatives are now continuously at the forefront of the battle against Covid-19 pandemic. Since the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) has ordered all cooperatives to utilize its Community Development Fund (CDF) or Optional Fund (OF) for projects or activities that will benefit the community and the members where they operate during these times of health crises, several cooperatives responded to the call and reported their accomplishments as evidently posted in the CDA website.

Even at this moment that Metro Manila is already under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ), there are still cooperatives who continuously support the needs of their members, the communities and also our brave frontliners.
In the City of Pasig, the ASA Philippines Credit Cooperative never closes its door for the welfare of its constituents. Hereunder is the report of the coop’s documentary officer on the recent activities they conducted amid the pandemic:

June 29, 2020 – APCC donated to its chosen federation (NCRL – PDCC) the amount of Three thousand (P3,000.00) pesos to buy PPE’s for the frontliners.

July 1, 2020 – APCC distributed the 200 bags of relief goods to the chosen beneficiary, the Tricycle Drivers Association in Barangay Kapitolyo, with permission and assistance from the said barangay. The Chief Executive Officer of the Barangay Security Force was also present to ensure that health protocols and national government guidelines are strictly implemented as well as the local government unit and barangay guidelines amidst the storm of the pandemic.
